The Promoting and Protecting Human Rights of Minorities (PPHRM) Project organized a meeting on the theme, ‘The role of public media activists to protect and promote human rights’. The meeting was held at Shanti Mitra Hall Room dated 27th June 2018. This is a project of Protibondhi Community Center (PCC) and Shanti Mitra Samajkollan Sangsta implements the PPHRM project.
Dr. Anjan Kumar Chicham, PCC Director, Mr. Rajan Bin, PCC Program Coordinator, Ms. Suporna Poli Drong, Executive Director of Shanti Mitra Samaj Kollan Sangsta and public media activists of local press, television and electronic media participated at the meeting.
Dr. Chicham in his welcoming speech encouraged the media workers how to focus on the rights of minorities and to bring to light their present situation. Ms. Drong shared about the vision, mission and activities of PPHRM project with last year’s achievements and challenges. Mr. Rajan Bin discussed about the next one year plan to protect and promote human rights. The media activists assured that they would publish reports regarding minority community issues three or four times during the year.
